THERA Embraces a Darker, Bolder Pop Era With ‘Heartless Romance’

Czech pop artist THERA steps into a darker, bolder era with ‘heartless romance’, an intoxicating new single that pushes her sound firmly towards the dancefloor.

Built around a hypnotic gliding synth, punchy hip-hop-inspired beats and atmospheric keys, the track steadily draws you in before opening up into a chorus that demands attention. THERA’s distinctive vocals bring both vulnerability and confidence to a song about the messy space between desire and commitment — and the frustration of being wanted by someone who still won’t truly choose you.

Co-written with acclaimed hit producer Jakke Erixson, whose credits include David Guetta, Charli XCX and Ava Max, ‘heartless romance’ feels like a significant step forward for THERA. The emotional intimacy of her earlier work remains, but here it is wrapped in a slicker, more physical pop production with a darker edge.

It’s a sound that suits THERA. She has already built an impressive international profile, with more than 11 million streams across platforms, a debut album that reached #1 on the Czech iTunes chart, and performances alongside Jason Derulo and Loreen.

Following her live EP ‘everywhere, all at once’, recorded during her arena tour supporting Jason Derulo, ‘heartless romance’ signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter — one where THERA is trading some of the softness of her earlier material for confidence, attitude and irresistible pop momentum.
